Men's Grooming, Haircare, and Skincare Brands Owned by Black Entrepreneurs
It’s a known fact that the Black Community and the needs of Black consumers are underrepresented, especially in realms of haircare, skincare, and grooming. In addition, in recent weeks, the Black Lives Matter movement has shone its light on the need to support Black-owned businesses and products that serve the needs of the Black Community.
People of color have tremendous buying power, yet major retailers do not do enough to display black-owned businesses and brands front and center. In support of inclusion, the Fifteen Percent Pledge challenges retailers devote 15% of their shelves to Black-owned businesses and suppliers, as the Black Community accounts for 15% of the total U.S. population.
While the Black Lives Matter movement and the Fifteen Percent Pledge are steps in the right direction for equality, they are not immediate. Immediate action and support is required today and comes in many forms, such as protests, educating friends and family on systemic racism, even shopping black-owned luxury brands and businesses.
Action is required, but much of the nation is still on high alert due to the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning many people are still cautious to leave their homes. However, you can still vote with your wallet and support the Black Community and Black Lives Matter by supporting Black-owned grooming, haircare, and skincare businesses founded and owned by Black entrepreneurs.
